STANDARD 8/10 Saloon
This was Standard Triumph's Minor/A35/Ford105e equivalent and 351,000 were produced. The Standard 8 was regarded as a quality car but when it was first introduced it didn't have an opening boot lid. The larger engined Standard 10 was soon available and it got its boot lid in 1957.
Moss used a much modified 8 as a road car, it was fitted with a 10 engine, had lowered suspension, Panhard rod and expensive Borrani wire wheels. Moss also raced one in 1955.
THE MODEL
The kit includes a lightweight precision moulded body and drivers head. Vac formed interior and windows. Plastic light lenses and white metal steel wheel inserts. 40 white number decals.
PENELOPE'S TIPS
Recommended chassis is SMJ although the front axle part will need to be shortened by 3mm. CB wheels with the optional PEW 5 inserts.
