HEALEY SR 1968

When the production of the Healey 3000 ended and in order to keep the Healey name alive until the Jenson Healey would be ready a prototype was produced, the Healey SR (sub rosa) to run at Le Mans. The power plant was the Coventry Climax FWMV 2litre with 240 bhp. It was a very attractive, purposeful well designed car, but overweight for its engine size. Maximum speed was a 180 mph.

The subject of this model was just ready in time for the postponed 1968 Le Mans to be driven by Clive Baker/Andrew Hedges. The car ran steadily until the clutch jammed forcing its retirement.

The car again ran in 1969 driven by Clive Baker/John Harris. This version ran with racing no 37 and all the rear deck scoops were removed and an aerofoil was added to the rear.
