DEVIN SUPER SPORT 1957-59
Bill Devin teamed up with Irish chassis Engineer Malcolm McGregor to produce high performance sports cars. The mould for the fibreglass body was taken from a Ferrari two seater sports car based on an Ermini 1100cc chassis, this in turn was from an original Scaglietti design for a single seater. The Mcgregor chassis was fitted with the 339CI Chevrolet (375 HP) engine.
The car had an amazing performance for its time 0-60mph in 4.8 secs 0-100mph in 12.
Fifteen Devin SS’s where built and supplied in ready to race form.
Devin raced successfully in SCCA C/modified class against Maserati and Ferraris. Andy Porterfield was the most successful driver in history and was the original Devin works driver. Peter Woods won the 1959 Cal Club C/modified Championship.
The cars appeared in many different colour schemes with minor body differences. The aim of this kit is to enable the builder to assemble it with a variety of options.
THE MODEL
The kit includes precision moulded resin body incorporating low relief interior, drivers arms and shoulders. White metal exhausts, drivers hands and steering wheel, filler cap, optional bonnet blisters and a choice of two roll bars. Vac formed windscreen and detailed BRM headlights. A selection of body stripes, numbers and white roundel decals are included.

Chassis suggestions Sidewinder Sport or F1Rs if in line is stipulated in the rules. Both these chassis can be fitted with the soon to be released moving Side Pan kit.
