BUGATTI 251
This was the last Grand Prix car to bare the Bugatti name. The 251 had a straight eight engine mounted transversely behind the Driver it had de Dion suspension front and rear. It only appeared in one race the 1956 French Grand Prix where it was found to be underpowered and had alarming road holding. It was clear that it would need a lot of development work which the Bugatti Concern were unable to fund. The basic design appeared to be unstable even on the straights. A second car was practised but not raced this had a reworked nose treatment.
THE MODEL
Lightweight precision moulded resin body. Vac formed drivers arms/shoulders, resin head. Aero screen, dummy radiator and stainless steel photo etched Bugatti radiator grill. Forty white number decals.
