1912 STREAMLINED L.E. BROOKLANDS ROLLS ROYCE
In 1912 E W Hives built this streamlined body onto a standard Rolls Royce London Edinburgh chassis previously as a trials car the intention was to break records at Brooklands.
This is the only single seat Rolls Royce ever built and with the exception of the streamlined body the only other modification was to change the rear axle ratio to give it a highter top speed. Records show the car competed in at least two events at Brooklands and achieved an average lap speed of 101 mph imagine that without a windscreen!!!
