HISTORY In 1959 the DBR/250 was made by Aston Martin to compete in Formula 1. Four of the handsome cars were built but the writing was on the wall for front engine cars these being bulky and overweight compared to the rear engined Coopers although occasionally showing promise lack of development made them also rans in the European season. Two cars were modified in 1960 for the Tasman series were one driven by Lex Davison came second in the Australian Grand Prix. Bob Stilwell won the race at Warwick Farm. One of these 59 cars ran in the 1960 F1 season this was joined by a pair of DBR 5 cars. These were lighter versions one with independent suspension they were mid field runners for this season.
